The Crooked Lake House has been around for a while, almost 100 years. In fact, I remember shooting there with Big Joe way back in the day when I was a kid. I believe for a while it was closed until a few years ago Marty Keary and the other co-owners resuscitated the place and boy does it shine in its current state! I’m stoked this was wedding one of four for us this year at the venue!
Would you be surprised if I told you there was a chance of rain on this one? I know, I know. Will it ever stop? Anyway walking into their awesome bridal suite was the amazingly beautiful, Jessica, Jess or Jessie. Boy does she have a contagious smile and energy! Alayne and team Make Me Fabulous were in the house too as well as my man Al Woodard. Jessie assembled quite the A Team, also on the bill was Fleurtacious Designs with their amazing florals and DJ Paul Malo! This one had all great stuff happening.
Once Jess was officially in her gown and all bride’d out we headed downstairs to the lake (the crooked one) and began our photo session. 10 minutes into the photos the wind picked up and along came a 30 minute thunder storm. Typical right? So what! The Crooked Lake House is a great rain venue. Meaning the inside and out all work perfect should you have to hide from the elements. We simply shot under the covered area downstairs, it was beautiful. Then it was time to get married. The rain held off for their ceremony too and the rest of the day ended up being perfect. I really enjoyed shooting on the property as it has so many different spots and photo opportunities. I especially loved the weeping willow tree!
Now it’s party time and Paul Malo set it off strong! The crazy bridal party made quite an entrance before wilding out into an insane Harlem Shake. Thats the way you setoff fun my friends. The ballroom was great for shooting in and the Elario Photo Booth fit in quite nicely. Thanks to Hayden for holding it down! Good times my friends!
Jess and Tim, thank you both for having us! You’re such a sweet couple and made my job pretty darn easy on both at your engagement session and wedding! We all wish you the very best in the years ahead and mad love! Thanks again and congrats!!
