From time to time it’s fun to venture away from the weddings and do a personal project. With our July being quiet it seemed the a perfect time for this. It’s stuff like this that reminds me why I love what I do.

Last week on July 8th I came up with idea of “Pop-Up Portraits by JP Elario”. I wanted to actually do it that very day too but with the weather and pop-up thunderstorms (pun intended) I decided to wait a few days and really think about what I wanted to do. I loved the idea of announcing it on social media that day only an hour or so before and seeing who would show up. My inspiration might have come from the impromptu Beatles rooftop concert or something like that. I just thought, I’ll show up at a spot, setup, announce it across social media and see who shows up. Anyone who happened to walk by on the street and let me capture them was a bonus to me. Of the 43 portraits I captured it was about a 50/50 split of people passing by and social media/word of mouth.

I would like to thank everyone who loaned me their mugs for a few minutes and allowed me to capture them. I wanted the portraits to be fun, natural, honest, real and maybe a little silly too. There are other images of each subject I plan to post on my Facebook business page later. (update they are now up) Also many have been asking if I plan on doing this again, the answer is yes. You’ll have to watch me closely on my social media feeds as you never know when it might pop-up 😉

Peace,
JP

The next time I read a blog, I hope that it won’t fail me as much as this one. After all, Yes, it was my choice to read through, however I really thought you’d have something useful to talk about. All I hear is a bunch of whining about something that you can fix if you were not too busy looking for attention.
