Do you have a full wedding we can view?
YES! And there is a reason this is the first question you see here… I believe this is the number one question you should ask a photographer you’re considering capture your day. Obviously our portfolios and instagrams are going to look polished and perfectly curated but I urge you to dig deeper. I’m incredibly happy with over coverage and delivery from A-Z and more than happy to share that with you. Just ask!
How would you describe your style?
Down-to-earth and relaxed. I don’t take anything too seriously and love to have some fun along the way capturing intimate, candid and real moments. Essentially I want you to be yourselves so that I can capture you for who you really are, quirks and all.
Where are you located?
We’re located in the heart of Albany, NY in a 2000 square foot space. We have two shooting studios (one natural light only), our editing room, meeting space and a gallery with tons of wall art. We love visitors (who bring coffee 😉 ) so please stop by.
What else do you photograph?
While we’re known for our wedding work we can capture almost anything. JP photographs many newborn sessions throughout the year as well as editorial work, fitness photography, headshots and events. That’s what is fun about what we do, it’s never the same thing!
Would you travel to photograph my wedding?
YES!! I love shooting at new locations more than anything! I would be more than happy to chat with you about it.
When will we see images from our wedding?
I’m so glad you asked! Turnover time is one of the things we do best here. My clients will usually see their online gallery within 10 days (often less, no joke) from their event date. I don’t believe in making people wait.
What about wedding day timeline? Is this something you help us with?
Definitely! Wedding day timelines are something I take very serious. I’ll go over sunset time on your day, the pros/cons of first looks and we’ll figure it all out. I prefer to chat timeline at least 3 months from your big day and even earlier if need be.
*side note: wedding planners/day of coordinators are godsends. They allow me to focus on capturing your day which is why I’m there 😉
Do we need to supply you with a shot list?
Shot lists are one of those things you can get carried away with fast. I always say if there are some certain family or extended family combos (aside from immediate family) you could make note of them. That list is best with a family member who can manage these setups while I work on capturing your day.
Should we have an "unplugged wedding"?
YES!!….. for the ceremony at least. For those unfamiliar with “unplugged weddings,” it’s basically when the bride and groom ask the guests to watch the ceremony through their eyes, not their iPhones. Put away your smartphones, cameras, iPads (yes people will actually bring 11″ iPads to a ceremony; try shooting around that obstruction) and be part of the ceremony as a guest. We all know you want to be the first to post on social media but save it for after the ceremony because more often than not wedding guests who are trying to get “the shot” ruin ours.
How far out do you book?
For weddings it can be as far as two years out and as little as three months. On average 12-18 months for peak dates. For engagement shoots and other portrait shoots 1-2 months depending on the time of year.
