You probably remember Julia and Jon because very recently I shot and blogged their Lake George engagement photos. Like their engagement photos, their wedding too was gorgeous. We set off the day at their home in Saratoga Springs. On site again was wedding planner Katie O’ and team. After Julia was dressed our plan was to head around the corner to the Yaddo Gardens for a first look and all our portraits. That began quite smoothly until the rain came. It rained for maybe five minutes and then we were able to shoot again. Then it rained for about five more minutes. Once that one passed we were able to get some more photos in before the skies completely opened and we just bailed on that location. We headed to the sheltered grounds of the Hall of Springs to finish all the photos. It all worked out perfectly as things usually do.
It was then ceremony time at St Mary’s in Ballston Spa. The church filled up and the sky got a little dark. After their ceremony we all headed to the Saratoga Polo Club. You might be wondering about Julia and Jon’s awesome 1957 school bus. Jon and his family own a school bus company so somehow a bus had to be worked into the mix. I don’t believe this vintage bus is available for rental but I’m sure if it was, people would be all over it!
We really enjoyed shooting at the Saratoga Polo Club. The same caterer from yesterday’s blog (Old Daley Inn) also runs this place. They did a fantastic job with the food and gave this bride and groom ample dance floor time! Speaking of the dance floor, I very much loved their black and white dance floor. It was so fun to shoot on. The whole place is a very cool venue and we’d love to shoot their again in the future.
Julia and Jon, thank you both so much for having us. It was great getting to know you both throughout the engagement shoot and wedding experience! You both are a really fun couple as is all your family and friends. Congrats on the big day, keep smiling.
